From a watch forum to a PROPRIETARY movement

It all began in 2021, on watch forums, with a simple idea: to collaboratively design a moon phase watch. Through questionnaires, surveys, and the first sketches of a Watch Configurator, the project took shape, and the enthusiasm surrounding this approach led to the launch of a first series, Origine, in winter 2022. Since then, the team has grown, ambitions have become clearer, and the community continues to grow.

In 2024, Orion marked a new milestone with a femto-laser-engraved luminescent moon disc, accurate to 0.001 mm. This technical feat was warmly welcomed by the community and propelled the series into one of the most funded campaigns of the year on Kickstarter. This success helped fund and accelerate the development of more ambitious projects, including the design of a modular caliber planned for 2025.

THE COST STRUCTURE

DOWN TO THE LAST SCREW

We have chosen to systematically disclose production costs and the origin of components. If we share details down to the price of a bezel gasket, it is primarily to provide you with a clear understanding of the pricing and feasibility constraints involved in the creation process. The structure of all our editions is available for download on each model's page.

A DIAL ON TWO FLOORS

A DIAL ON TWO FLOORS

The dial is composed of three separate pieces, nested on two levels. The central moon is located on a third level, under the central dial, thus reinforcing the depth of this stepped architecture.

The upper part of the dial, smooth and matte, evokes the hull of Orion. In contrast, the lower part, finely grained and satin-finished, subtly recalls the lunar soil. On the latter, the graduation is made in "diamond cut", in order to bring relief and accentuate its readability.

The day window, located at the border of the two levels of the dial, breaks the overall symmetry and  slide as an orbit on the lunar graduation.

THE GUIDING LINE

REINVENTING THE MOON PHASE

As a starting point, we chose the moon phase. This complication comes in various forms, sizes, positions, and displays. The field of expression is limitless, and we aim to restore its full depth.

Map, poetry, conquest—the lunar body intrigues as much as it fascinates, and the imagination it sparks continues to inspire generations. In our turn, we seek to make it our own, to leave our mark with a new representation, and to share this story with fellow enthusiasts.
