ARTEMIS
MISSION
In 2025, four astronauts will be sent into orbit around the moon
The conquest of space is an adventure of humanity turned towards the unknown. Among the missions that embody this quest for exploration, the Artemis program, heir to Apollo, aims to establish a lunar base by 2027.
During Artemis II, four astronauts will be sent into lunar orbit aboard the Orion spacecraft. To celebrate this second mission, Mun is launching a new eponymous series composed of four automatic moon phases.
IN THE COLORS OF NASA
ORION BLUE
Orion Blue is adorned with the colors of NASA, the project manager for the Artemis space project. The model celebrates the decisive role of the American agency, with a stepped dial in shades of blue.
The indexes at twelve, three and nine o'clock are made of red luminova paint which light up when night falls.
A DIAL ON TWO FLOORS
AN ODE TO ORION'S TRAJECTORY
The dial is composed of three separate pieces, nested on two levels. The central moon is located on a third level, under the central dial, thus reinforcing the depth of this stepped architecture.
The upper part of the dial, smooth and matte, evokes the hull of Orion. In contrast, the lower part, finely grained and satin-finished, subtly recalls the lunar soil. On the latter, the graduation is made in "diamond cut", in order to bring relief and accentuate its readability.
The day window, located at the border of the two levels of the dial, breaks the overall symmetry and slide as an orbit on the lunar graduation.
WE'RE GOING BACK TO THE MOON
The Moon, fully luminescent (BGW9), is built on a realistic representation of the star. A femto laser, precise to the micron and at a frequency of 10⁻¹⁵ seconds, is used to dig and burn the material at different intensities. Each crater is revealed and turns brown, with a relief perceptible to the naked eye.
This innovative printing method is a first in the watchmaking sector. It was developed in collaboration with the miniaturization workshop AJS Production , which was awarded at the EPHJ trade fair in 2016 in Geneva.
MAPPING THE CELESTIAL VAULT
The disk is an exact map of the sky around the constellation Orion. The reproduction of this map is accurate to the micron, or 0.001 millimeter. To make them bright at night, the so-called first magnitude stars are dug deeper to bring out the SuperLuminova under the layer of paint.
SEMI-FLOATING APPLIED SUPER-LUMINOVA® INDICES
The indexes and hands feature Super-Luminova. Introduced in 1993, this photoluminescent pigment captures light and restores it in the dark. The Orion series thus lights up at night and maintains optimal readability in the dark.
The appliques, with straight curves, break up the rounded shapes one by one. Semi-flying, they overhang the lower part in the direction of the central moon.

10.6MM REFINED CASE
A double domed sapphire crystal on a stainless steel case.
The case is inspired by the elegant lines of the Orion spacecraft, combining curves and flat surfaces in a subtle alternation of brushed and polished finishes. The minimalist upper bezel opens onto a double-domed sapphire crystal. The slight and barely perceptible curves of the glass contribute to the depth of the dial and accentuate the play of light.
SWISS WATCHMAKING EXCELLENCE
The model is equipped with the SW288-1a caliber, from the Sellita manufactures. As a standard of Swiss watchmaking excellence, it features a rapid day/night correction, a day calendar and a moon phase complication.
The caliber is offered in an elaborate setting, at +/-7 seconds per day, controlled in Switzerland at the PH Saner workshop.

THE WORKSHOPS BEHIND THIS EDITION
This edition was produced in partnership with Franco-Swiss workshops, combining traditional knowledge and cutting-edge technology.
Founded in 1950 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Sellita started out as an assembler of mechanical movements. The company went on to design and produce its own range of movements, before establishing itself over the years as a veritable pillar of the Swiss watchmaking industry.
As partners in the Mu:n Projects since October 2020, Sellita manufactures are responsible for the development and production of the SW200 automatic movements.

Founded in 1970, PH Saner SA has lived and breathed watchmaking. From a small family workshop specializing in the winding of mechanical movements, the company was buoyed by the Quartz boom of the 1980s. With its own production site, the workshop returned to its core business in the early 2000s, heralding the return of mechanical movements.
The workshop has been supporting Mu:n projects since April 2022. It is the guarantor of the Swiss Made label, and controls the entire assembly chain: from movement modifications to after-sales service.

"The luminescent moon disk in the Orion is quite striking, it reveals each lunar crater in relief and makes them perceptible to the naked eye. That's not exactly an easy thing to accomplish."
